In Napoli’s thrilling Serie A victory, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen displayed his selfless side before devastating rivals Sassuolo with a vicious goalscoring performance.
Osimhen stole the show as he led the reigning champions to a convincing 6-1 Serie A victory over Sassuolo on Wednesday.
Prior to his spectacular explosive display, social media users saw footage of Osimhen assisting ground crew at Sassuolo’s MAPEI Stadium in repairing the goal netting, as reported by Soccernet

However, the Nigerian striker played the role of both the arsonist and the firefighter as he went on to tear apart the same net by scoring an incredible hat-trick as Napoli crushed their opponents.
For the first time this season, Napoli looked like the Italian champions, and Osimhen also added an assist to his scintillating goal-scoring exhibition.
Osimhen destroys what he fixed
With five goals in only three games after returning from his AFCON 2023 duties with Nigeria, the 25-year-old has been in incredible form.
Osimhen only scored once during the AFCON finals, as the Nigerian Eagles advanced to the championship game but lost host nation to Ivory Coast in the final.
However, the reigning African Footballer of the Year is back for Serie A champions Napoli and firing on all cylinders, making up for lost times back playing in Cote d’Ivoire.
Victor Osimhen may have begun the evening by kindly mending Sassuolo’s nets, but he ended it by demolishing those same nets and maintaining Napoli’s momentum in the Champions League.
