Nottingham Forest has fallen into the Premier League relegation zone following a deduction of four points
With a deduction of four points, Nottingham Forest now finds themselves in the relegation zone, while Luton benefits from their slip, climbing out of the relegation zone.
Nottingham Forest gets points hit
The Premier League had previously confirmed in January that Forest had violated Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

These regulations stipulate that over a three-year period, no team can incur losses exceeding £105 million. However, if a side was in the EFL, the threshold is lower.
Despite Forest’s promotion to the Premier League in 2022, their expenditure on 45 players totaling £250 million far exceeded their earnings of £5 million from transfers during that period.

The £45 million sale of Brennan Johnson to Tottenham last summer could not be considered, as it occurred after the reporting period under scrutiny.
Nevertheless, the fate of relegation from the Premier League will only be determined after the season concludes. Any appeals are likely to be resolved following the final matches of the campaign.
Nottingham suffer same fate as Everton
Earlier in the season, Everton faced a deduction of 10 points, which was later reduced to six upon appeal.
As for Nottingham Forest, they are yet to release a statement regarding the points deduction. Following the Premier League’s confirmation in January of their breach of PSR rules, the club stated.
“Nottingham Forest acknowledges the statement from the Premier League confirming that the club has today been charged with a breach of the league’s profitability and Sustainability Rules.
The club intends to continue to cooperate fully with the Premier League on this matter and are confident of a speedy and fair resolution.”
