Bukayo Saka, who plays for Arsenal, has taken his passion and talent from football to cooking by introducing his own Nando’s sauce.
Working with the restaurant, he created the ‘PERi-PERi Saka Sauce’ using his favorite flavors, including smoky BBQ and tomato, along with Nando’s famous PERi-PERi sauce.
Bukayo Saka creates spicy recipe
Easy to enjoy yet still bold with a moderate level of spiciness, the sauce is also filled with garlic and smoked paprika.
”The sauce mixes sweet, spiciness and smokiness.
”I love it and can’t wait for everyone to try it. I’ve been going to Nando’s since I was little so to have my own PERi-PERi sauce in every restaurant in the country is quite mad!
”My family’s really important to me so I wanted to make sure they liked it, too. As soon as my Dad said he was a fan, I knew it was the one.”, Saka said, as per Daily Mail.
Saka’s Yoruba root
Coming from the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria, Saka has roots in a culture known for its spicy cuisine. Therefore, his decision to create a spicy sauce aligns with his cultural background and heritage.
Saka collaborates with other chefs
The PERi-PERi Saka Sauce will be available in all Nando’s restaurants across the UK and Ireland for a limited time. In a short video by Nando’s, we see 22-year-old Saka working in the kitchen with chefs to create his sauce.
He collaborated with an Arsenal chef, bringing his football chemistry into cooking. The sauce’s bottle design was crafted by Reuben Dangoor, known for his work at Emirates Stadium.
This culinary venture comes amidst Saka’s international duties with England, who are gearing up to play friendlies against Brazil and Belgium as they prepare for Euro 2024 in Germany, which many believe England can win.
Meanwhile, Sports Buddy previously reported that Rio Ferdinand, an expert on TNT Sports, asserted that Phil Foden can be deemed “world class,” distinguishing him from Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, who, in Ferdinand’s view, has yet to deliver at the highest level.
