Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel, has justified his actions in response to the breakout fight after the match between Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor.

Sports Buddy in recent news reported about the chaotic event in which Osayi-Samuel intervened by punching a fan who had invaded the pitch and attempted to attack Fenerbahce players following the Turkish Super Lig encounter.
Fenerbahce emerged victorious with a 3-2 win, maintaining the pressure on league leaders Galatasaray.
Bright Osayi defends his action
Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel has defended his action following the fight that broke out after the match between Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor.
“Some people say what I did was not self-defense. If someone comes at you with a knife in his hand, how can this not be self-defense? They came to the field from the stands,”, he said, as per Daily Post.
“I only had to defend my team and my friends there. Many of my teammates were coming into the locker room with cuts and bruises.
“I cannot understand how such events are possible on a football field.”, he said.
Meanwhile Sports Buddy reported in previous news that Bright Osayi was given a hero’s welcome upon return to Fernabache. Also, a grafitti morale was made to honour him for his brave act.
