After being struck by the rock, Olivera initially lay on the ground, awaiting treatment. Subsequently, he had to be restrained by several players and staff as he attempted to confront the stands.

After being substituted, the Uruguayan defender left the pitch and was taken to the hospital in Rosario, where doctors assessed the extent of the cut.

Following the incident, Olivera provided an update on his condition via Instagram, reassuring fans with a statement: “I’m fine! Thanks for the messages.”
He continued,”Beyond the pain and a few stitches, everything is fine! Hurt by the result that we believe we deserved more.
”But with a lot of anger about the terrible treatment that our fans, our people, received. A shame!
”But all together, we are going to fight everywhere! Peñarol and nothing more. This follows! Let’s go and let’s go.”
Following the incident, Penarol issued a club statement stating that an ongoing investigation is underway to identify the supporters responsible.
