Samuel Chukwueze: Super Eagles winger dazzles, helps AC Milan to a comfortable 3-0 win

In AC Milan’s 3-0 victory over Lecce at San Siro, Samuel Chukwueze continued his recent impressive form by setting up Christian Pulisic’s 10th Serie A goal of the season, as per ESPN.

Lecce, under new boss Luca Gotti, had entered the match with two consecutive clean sheets, defeating Salernitana 1-0 and holding Roma to a goalless draw on Easter Monday.

However, they couldn’t withstand Stefano Pioli’s men, who scored twice in the first 20 minutes through Pulisic and Olivier Giroud, with Rafael Leao adding a third before the hour mark for the hosts. Lecce played the second half with 10 men following Nikola Krstovic’s dismissal for serious foul play on Chukwueze.

Chukwueze, benefiting from Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s suspension, started the match and played a crucial role in Pulisic’s goal, showcasing his skill with five key passes throughout the game, the most by any player on either side.

One of his setups led to Pulisic’s goal, despite the USMNT star finishing expertly from a low-percentage chance in the sixth minute. Chukwueze also provided an opportunity for Luka Jovic, who was denied by Wladimiro Falcone.

Delving further into the statistics, only Rafael Leao (nine) had more touches in the opposition box than Chukwueze (six), while the Portuguese international also completed more dribbles (five) than the former Villarreal player (three).

This placed him joint-third with Theo Hernandez, while Lecce’s Ylber Ramadani surpassed his marker four times.

Notably, the Nigeria international (four) won more fouls than Leao (three), indicating the threat he posed with the ball during Saturday’s lunchtime fixture.
