Aston Villa’s Durán Crashes Car Before Big Match
Premier League’s Colombian striker Jhon Durán reportedly damaged his luxury car just hours before a crucial Europa Conference League match against Lille.
Premier League Star Crash Witnessed in Birmingham
Photos emerged on social media showing the Premier League standing next to his mangled grey BMW X6 in Birmingham. The car sustained significant damage to the front, including a crumpled bonnet, missing headlight, and leaking fluids.
Eyewitnesses reported that the accident occurred around 11.20 am on April 11th at Holloway Head and involved a collision with a van.
Thankfully, according to eyewitnesses, no one was injured in the crash. One witness told The Sun: “Durán immediately made sure everyone was OK and stayed at the scene.
” The accident did cause delays, but luckily, it seems Durán was able to make it to the game on time. West Midlands Police confirmed they were called to the scene of the accident but reported no injuries.
Durán Expected to Play Despite Car Accident
Despite the car accident, Durán is reportedly unharmed and expected to be available for the match, albeit starting from the bench. The 20-year-old striker has primarily been used as a substitute since joining Aston Villa in January 2023 for a reported £15 million.
With starting striker Ollie Watkins still recovering from injury, some anticipated Durán would start against Lille. Since his arrival at Villa, Durán has scored a Premier League goal against Everton and a Europa Conference League goal against Hibernian. The young Colombian forward also has international experience, having won eight caps and scoring a goal for his home country.
Villa have not yet commented on the incident.
