It took an emotional turn as host Kate Abdo, a Manchester United fan, opened up about her late father, Tom Giles.
Abdo revealed that she and her father used to travel to Old Trafford together to cheer on the Red Devils. Sadly, she also disclosed that her father passed away in December.
This revelation came about during a discussion with former USMNT and MLS star Tony Meola, who spoke about his experience coaching his daughter. Meola, 55, described it as “one of the coolest parenting experiences” he had, despite initial hesitation.
Memories of Time Spent with Father Surface
Abdo cherished the time spent bonding with her father through sports. “I just lost my dad in December,” she said. “The time I spent with him in sports was everything to me.” She elaborated on the valuable lessons learned through these experiences. “We all know that sports teaches you character… determination, commitment, durability…”
