Inter Milan crowned Champions after dominant derby win

Inter Milan secured their Serie A title emphatically last night, defeating arch-rivals AC Milan 2-1 at the San Siro. This victory, with five games remaining in the season, hands the Scudetto back to Inter after Napoli’s brief reign.

Goals from Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram sealed the win for Simone Inzaghi’s men, adding a layer of sweetness to the victory as it came against their city rivals.

Thuram’s provocative celebration

According to reports fro The Sun, Marcus Thuram, a summer free transfer signing from Borussia Monchengladbach, took center stage in the post-match celebrations. The French striker, who notched his 13th goal of the season, celebrated by removing his shirt and using it to cover the AC Milan symbol on a corner flag. He then raised the flagpole in a celebratory gesture, clearly aimed at their defeated opponents.

Inter Milan players Party with devoted Fans

Inter Milan  fans weren’t to be left out of the celebrations. They thronged to the Piazza del Duomo, Milan’s main square, to party through the night. While players enjoyed a separate event nearby, the joyous supporters eventually lured out their heroes.

At 4 am, Lautaro Martinez, the World Cup winner who had earlier celebrated atop a goalpost, emerged on a balcony to the delight of the chanting crowd. Martinez, with a total of 26 goals this season, solidified his status as a fan favorite after celebrating the second Serie A title win in six years for Inter.

Left-back Federico Dimarco, another key player for Inter this season, also joined the balcony celebration, receiving a hero’s welcome from the adoring fans.
