Alejandro Garnacho’s Brother Takes Aim at Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo on Social Media
Roberto Garnacho, the brother of Manchester United’s young winger Alejandro Garnacho, has fired shots at Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo on social media.

Defending Alejandro, Criticizing Gakpo
This isn’t the first time Roberto has been active online in support of his brother. After a successful breakthrough season for Alejandro under Erik ten Hag, Roberto has now targeted Gakpo, who has struggled to replicate his Dutch league form in the Premier League.

The Mocking Post
The social media post came after news emerged that Feyenoord boss Arne Slot was being lined up to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. Roberto seized this opportunity to mock Gakpo, suggesting that even a new manager wouldn’t be able to improve his pace. The post included a disrespectful reference to Slot’s bald head.
Gakpo’s Struggles at Liverpool
Gakpo was heavily linked with United before opting for Liverpool in January 2023. However, his prolificacy in the Eredivisie hasn’t translated to England’s top tier.

He’s yet to secure a regular starting spot and has even been deployed in midfield at times by Klopp, which the manager himself admitted has impacted Gakpo’s form.
Despite a recent dip, Klopp remains confident in Gakpo’s abilities, highlighting his various strengths and emphasizing that he’ll likely be used primarily in an attacking role going forward.
