Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson has now surpassed Didier Drogba’s goal tally in his debut season.
Jackson, who found the net in both matches against Tottenham, seems to be regaining his scoring touch. Ending his three-game goal drought, the former Villareal forward doubled Chelsea’s lead over their London rivals.

In his debut Premier League season, Drogba netted 10 goals and provided four assists in 26 games, while Jackson has scored 11 goals in 31 appearances.
Challenges and ambitions for Nicolas Jackson and Chelsea
The 22-year-old striker has faced significant criticism for his frequent missed opportunities, which have proven costly for Chelsea this season.
As the season draws to a close, Jackson is determined to increase his goal tally. Despite Chelsea’s victory against Tottenham, their chances of securing a Champions League spot are dashed, as they currently trail fourth-placed Aston Villa by 16 points.
Realistically, they can only aim for fifth or sixth place. Given the turbulent season they’ve endured, such a finish would be warmly welcomed by Chelsea supporters.
