Foxes to Mark Championship Win with Fan Celebration
Leicester City Football Club will host a celebratory open-top bus parade through the city center to commemorate their return to the Premier League. This joyous occasion comes after the Foxes secured the top spot in the Championship with a convincing away victory over Preston North End on Monday.
Leicester City Invites Fans to Join the Festivities
The club is inviting fans to gather near the Clock Tower from 11:30 am BST on Sunday, May 5th, in anticipation of the parade commencing at noon. At 1:15 pm, the team will be presented with the Championship trophy on the balcony of the Haymarket shopping center. The club anticipates a large turnout, with thousands of fans lining the parade route.
This celebratory parade, dubbed “Straight Back Up,” takes place a day after the Foxes are presented with the trophy at King Power Stadium following their match against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
A Celebration of Success and Gratitude
Leicester City, celebrating their record-breaking eighth second-tier title, aims to thank its loyal supporters by creating an “unforgettable” occasion. The club promises an atmosphere filled with music and large screens, reminiscent of previous parades held to mark the club’s return to the top flight in 2014 and their historic Premier League title win in 2016.
The parade route will begin on Northampton Street, turn right onto Granby Street, continue on to the Haymarket Clocktower, and conclude along Humberstone Gate.
Ndidi Ecstatic About Promotion
A reporter caught up with Wifred Ndidi to celebrate Leicester City’s return to the Premier League. “Congratulations!” she exclaimed, “How are you feeling?”
Ndidi’s grin stretched from ear to ear. “Absolutely amazing! I feel fantastic,” he replied, his voice brimming with joy.

“So, what’s next for Leicester?” the reporter queried.
Ndidi’s smile remained wide as he declared, “The Premier League! Up we go!”
Iheanacho’s Measured Response
The reporter then approached Kelechi Iheanacho, another Leicester City player and Ndidi’s Nigerian teammate. She playfully addressed him using his popular nickname: “Senior Man, how does it feel?”
Iheanacho acknowledged the achievement, replying, “I feel good, really good. It’s a massive accomplishment.”
“Where do you see Leicester going from here?” the reporter continued.
Iheanacho’s response was more cautious: “Honestly, I’m not sure yet. I’m still a Leicester City player, and that’s my focus for now.”
A Touch of Pidgin Cheer
As Iheanacho finished his sentence, a fan, unable to contain his excitement, burst into the interview area. In a lighthearted moment, he interjected in Pidgin English: “Na lie! Na lie!” (That’s not true! That’s not true!), adding a touch of humor to the celebratory atmosphere.
