The much-anticipated Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury has finally found a potential date on the boxing calendar.

This monumental event, hailed as the biggest fight in boxing, is back in contention following Joshua’s recent resurgence in his career, highlighted by a stunning knockout victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in March.

In an interview with ESPN, Alalshikh expressed his hopes for the Battle of Britain to take place in March 2025, signaling a significant milestone for boxing enthusiasts worldwide.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury date dependent on Gypsy King’s fight with Usyk

The suggested date, however, is dependent on Alalshikh’s intentions about Fury’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, the unified heavyweight champion.

On May 18, the Gypsy King and the unbeaten Ukrainian will compete for all the heavyweight chips in a lucrative bout in Riyadh.

There’s a two-way rematch provision in effect, and the second installment is scheduled for October 12 or 13. That is assuming that in their next Saudi straightener, neither boxer gets a major injury.

A concussion or injury to one of the men might cause their second match to be postponed until early 2025, which would impact Alalshikh’s plans for Fury and AJ’s fight in March of next year.

“This is what I’m being told. If that’s what they say, they normally back their word so let’s go with that.

“Wembley, September 20 or 21,” Joshua said, confirming his return date.

Meanwhile, Sports Buddy previously reported that a former boxing champion has passed away at the age of 57 after a brief illness.
