According to reports, Arsenal are leading the race against Chelsea to secure the signature of one of Europe’s most in-form strikers.

The Gunners are reportedly the frontrunners to sign RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko this summer, who is on top form, having scored in his last six games.

Mikel Arteta’s side is eager to bolster their attack during the off-season, given Gabriel Jesus’s recent struggles with form and fitness, and Eddie Nketiah falling out of favor. Currently, Kai Havertz is the preferred option up front for the Spaniard.

The Gunners have been linked with several strikers, including Ivan Toney, Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, and Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee.

The 20-year-old has attracted attention from several major European clubs in recent months, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and AC Milan. However, the report indicates that rivals for his signature believe the Gunners are in pole position for the 6ft 5in striker.

Sesko’s impressive career stats: A valuable addition to Arsenal

Benjamin Sesko joined RB Leipzig last summer after four years with their sister club Red Bull Salzburg, where he netted 29 times in 79 games.

The Slovenian striker, who has also scored 11 goals in 28 appearances for his national team, has had an impressive debut season in Germany, tallying 17 goals across all competitions. Initially reported to have a release clause of £43 million, Sky Germany claims this has now risen to as much as £64 million due to his outstanding form.

Sesko, at just 20 years old, would be a long-term addition for the Gunners, bringing significant potential and talent. Speculation about his move to the Emirates has only intensified in recent weeks.
