Smit Denies Wrongdoing, But Suspension Stands
The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) took a harsh stance against Smit, ultimately issuing a lifetime suspension from officiating. Smit, however, maintains his innocence.
He claims he merely sang a song and lifted the trophy once, expressing his disappointment with the severity of the punishment.
