Rivaldo Urges Brazilian Stars to Consider Summer Moves
Brazilian legend Rivaldo has suggested that Manchester United’s Casemiro and Antony, along with Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus, would benefit from transfers this summer.
Casemiro and Antony Struggling at Manchester United
Rivaldo believes a change of scenery would be good for both Casemiro and Antony, who have struggled to find their footing in the Premier League this season.
While acknowledging Antony’s talent, Rivaldo pointed out that Manchester United’s current struggles are hindering the young player’s development.
“He’s currently at a club that’s been going through difficult times for a while now,” said Rivaldo, suggesting a move to a team in Spain, Germany or Italy “could be fundamental for his progression now.”
Casemiro, on the other hand, has faced criticism for his performances at United. Rivaldo defended the veteran midfielder, placing the blame on the team’s lack of overall success. “The club is going through difficulties, and it is unfair that Casemiro is criticised for that,” Rivaldo said. “It is up to the club to put together a strong squad.”
While Speaking to Betfair, Rivaldo suggested that a return to Spain or a move to Italy would be ideal for Casemiro, emphasizing the importance of playing at a high level to secure a spot in Brazil’s World Cup squad in 2026.
Jesus Needs More Playing Time to Regain National Team Spot
Rivaldo also cast doubt on Jesus’s future at Arsenal, given the forward’s limited playing time this season. “He has lost his place in the Arsenal starting line-up and spends too much time on the bench,” said Rivaldo.
With competition heating up for spots on the Brazilian national team, Rivaldo believes Jesus needs a move to secure more playing time. “There are other players in the same position standing out, scoring goals, and Jesus needs more minutes,” Rivaldo explained.
“Without much opportunity to play, it is time for him to think about leaving the club to be able to return to the Brazilian national team.”
