Following City’s historic fourth consecutive Premier League title win, Rodri spoke about the factors that separated his side from the competition. While acknowledging the quality of other teams, he believes mentality was the key differentiator.

“Undoubtedly, it’s all about mentality,” Rodri told Optus Sport. “There are exceptional players throughout the league, across every club. Arsenal also had a fantastic season.”

However, Rodri feels a crucial difference emerged in head-to-head encounters.

Arsenal’s Approach at Etihad Questioned

“When they came to the Etihad to play us,” Rodri continued, “I got the impression they weren’t there to win, just to draw. That kind of mentality isn’t something we would adopt. We capitalized on that approach.”

He elaborated on the significance of mentality in the title race. “If you concede a point to us, we will find a way to win the next seven or eight games, no matter how challenging they are. It’s all about mentality.”
