England head coach Gareth Southgate has unveiled the Three Lions’ provisional list for the Euro 2024 tournament, sparking debates due to the omission of several notable names from the squad.

Southgate left Marcus Rashford, Jordan Henderson, and Raheem Sterling out of England’s provisional squad for Euro 2024, opting instead to give surprise call-ups to Adam Wharton, Jarell Quansah, and Curtis Jones.

Rashford is omitted following a lackluster season with Manchester United, while Henderson’s international career appears to be over after a disappointing stint with Saudi club Al-Ettifaq and subsequently Ajax.

Sterling, another mainstay of Southgate’s tenure as England manager, also misses the 33-man squad after an inconsistent season with Chelsea.

”Other players in that area of the pitch have had better seasons. It’s as simple as that,” Gareth Southgate said, addressing the omission of Rashford, as per The Daily Mail.
