Manchester United could listen to offers for Bruno Fernandes this summer. The club captain is waiting for clarity on his future. Portugal international has been vital member of first-team at Old Trafford since joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in 2020. However doubts over his long-term future have begun to emerge.
While Fernandes has insisted he will stay at the club as long as they want him. He has shared concerns over the direction United are heading in, eager for assurances that the club can match his ambitions as player. His agent, Miguel Pinho has held talks with Bayern Munich over potential summer move. Barcelona are also thought to be interested.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the rest of United hierarchy regard Fernandes as best player at the club. Several first-team members are up for sale. They are not actively trying to cash in on him this summer. However, with the club needing to raise transfer funds through player sales any realistic offers will be considered, the Guardian reports.

Fernandes Seeking New Contract and Assurance on Ten Hag’s Future
Fernandes meanwhile, is pushing for new contract and feels his current deal worth around £220,000 per week has left him feeling undervalued. The 29-year-old is seeking deal that will lift him into the top pay bracket at the club. He wants to be alongside Marcus Rashford and Casemiro, whose contracts are worth at least £300000 per week.
United are still to decide the future of Erik ten Hag. Fernandes is also eager to know whether the Dutchman will remain in charge and if not. Who will be replacing him. While United won the FA Cup in thrilling fashion last month, they finished 31 points behind Premier League champions Manchester City in eighth place.
“I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream” Fernandes wrote for the Players’ Tribune. “I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club. If you go talk to any fan they will tell you the same thing.”
“We want to compete for the league. We want to be playing Champions League football. We want to be in cup finals. That is the standard”
