Former Super Eagles star Brown Ideye did not hold back on his criticism of Nigerian national team head coach Finidi George, following the team’s disappointing display in their most recent World Cup Qualifier clash against Benin Republic.
Prior to their matches against South Africa and the Benin Republic, Finidi and a few other Super Eagles players had raised expectations among the fans. However, the Super Eagles fell short, picking up just one point from both games.
Sports Buddy had previously reported that Finidi, when questioned about his selections in the game, in the Nigeria vs. South Africa post-match conference had told the fans to let him do his job, reminding them who makes the decicions.

The recent 2-1 loss to the Cheetahs of Benin Republic, who are currently coached by former Super Eagles’ boss Gernot Rohr, has sparked reactions from fans, including Ideye.
Following the recent defeat, the former Olypiacos striker took to his social media to call out the Super Eagles head coach, whom he believes should prove his mettle rather than make noise in interviews.
“Football no be Cho! Cho! Cho! [talking too much] If u no show working inside pitch no results period,” Ideye wrote on his account on X.

Nigeria have only managed three points from four games. They face an uphill battle as they look to turn their World Cup qualifying campaign around, as a near perfect result in their remaining games.
