Harry Kane and Pickford Make History in England’s Euro 2024 Opener
Harry Kane and Jordan Pickford have marked their names into English players history books as they start in the European Championship match against Serbia in the Euro 2024. Both players are regarded as English national team’s main hopes since the English are considered one of the main contenders for the victory in the tournament. The match in Gelsenkirchen saw manager Gareth Southgate starting with both Kane and Pickford in the team’s lineup.

Also, Kane has become the top English player in the number of appearances in Euros, surpassing Gary Neville. However, there was also a flip side as Pickford equalled Peter Shilton’s record of being the most capped England goalkeeper in a major tournament with 20. A clean sheet against Serbia would also have meant that Pickford reaches the same major tournaments record of ten clean sheets hold by Shilton.
