The game between France and Austria on Monday was one which saw casualties, with French captain Kylian Mbappe and teammate Antoine Griezman being victims on seperate ocasssions.
Griezman’s head was covered in blood after clashing with the advetising board around the sideline. However, the Atletico Madrid forward was fine after recieving threatment, as he continued the game with a bandaged head, which was later removed.
The game also saw Kylian Mbappe end up with a broken nose after colliding with Austrian defender Kevin Danso, as he made an attempt to head the ball from a whipped in free kick.
Mbappe to miss France’s next game
Though it’s unlikely that he’ll be ready for Friday’s match in Leipzig, France’s medical team are working rapidly to have their lucky charm’s mask created so he may resume playing, according to The Sun.
The game, which is expected to be a shootout for top spot in Group D as both France and the Netherlands have won their opening games, will see Les Bleus play without their most potent attacker.
However, there is a chance Mbappe, who is headed to Real Madrid, may play in their last group match against Poland.
