Chelsea’s Agreement with Estevao Willian
Chelsea has reached a deal to sign 17-year-old Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, with an initial payment of €34 million (£28.7 million) and potential add-ons up to €23 million (£19.4 million).
Estevao, who will join Chelsea when he turns 18 next year, is set to arrive at Stamford Bridge along with Ecuadorian talent Kendry Paez. Paez’s £17.5 million transfer was secured over a year ago.
Despite having only 22 senior appearances for Palmeiras, Estevao has quickly made a name for himself in Brazil.
High Expectations for Estevao
Branco, a 1994 World Cup winner with Brazil and the current youth coordinator for the national team, has expressed high hopes for Estevao.
In an interview with Canal WAMO, Branco predicted that Estevao could shine at the 2026 World Cup. He praised Brazil’s upcoming generation, highlighting their strength, speed, and quality. Branco remarked, “Estevao, in my opinion, is the greatest player I’ve seen born in Brazil since Neymar. His potential is extraordinary, setting him apart even among Brazil’s exceptional talents.”
Estevao’s arrival at Chelsea is highly anticipated, and his future contributions to both the club and his national team are expected to be significant.
