AFCON winning Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has been left heartbroken following the tragic death of his brother’s wife, who was involved in a fatal accident.
Ogenyi Onazi mourns brother’s wife
The former Lazio star took to his Instagram account to share the terrible news which had occured earlier in the week.
According to Onazi, his older brother was traveling with his wife when a truck carrying fertilizer lost control and ran into their vehicle.
Following the incident, the truck driver, who Onazi claims lacked a valid driver’s license, fled the scene.
Onazi wrote, “This is a message to the federal government of Nigeria.. and the federal @frscnigeria. On Tuesday 18th at about 4 pm my elder brother @onazithmps was driving with his wife to visit someone, on the traffic then came this truck loaded with fertilizer without control to crash more than 10 cars killed my brother’s wife instantly and my brother managed to survival with several dislocated joint arranged for surgery, with other people dead.”
Fans and football players have sent support and condolences in response to Onazi’s devastating message, with his former Super Eagles colleagues leading the way.
