Spain and Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella ruled out the possibility of shifting back to his former team, Barcelona. Cucurella is a product of La Masia, Barcelona’s youth academy, and has represented Barcelona’s first team only once in the culé’s 2017/18 cup encounter with Real Murcia.
But due to inadequate playing minutes with the main team, he started searching for a chance in other teams.
Cucurella was then loaned out from Eibar to Getafe from the time period of 2018 and 2020 where he eventually got permanently transferred to Getafe.
He had shifted to the premier league team after just one season and joined Brighton and hove Albion. Some of these displays included the time he was signed by Chelsea at a starting fee of € 65 million from Brighton.
Cucurella Adress Chelsea Future
Contrary to these speculations, Cucurella dismissed any likelihood of departing from Chelsea or coming back to Barcelona since some of the Chelsea followers hold contrasting views about him while his contract will expire in 2028.

Barcelona, now under the management of Hansi Flick has not expressed much desire to reinstate Cucurella back to the club. Barcelona seems well secured in the left-back position as Alejandro Balde rises expected to be the first choice.
However, whether or not Cucurella will return to Barcelona seems less of a concern now as both the club, and the player seem to be current on what they want.
