Italian based newspaper, Il Romanista has reported that the Aston Villa is leading the chase to land Roma Striker Tammy Abraham before the close of this summer transfer window. The Ex Chelsea star is longing to go back to the Premier League and he has been linked to some clubs such as Leicester City.
Selling Price of Roma: Contract Profile
Roma is demanding £25 million for the Italian international who currently signed a new deal and is under contract until 2026. For the management, this summer is the perfect time to get rid of him in an attempt to balance the loss by selling him at a better price. Tammy Abraham tops the list of main suspects that might potentially join other teams next season, and thus, his departure is an important issue for the Roma.
Tammy Abraham’s Performance and History
Abraham had a small thigh injury plagued campaign that limited him to just twelve matches and scoring once. Even the previous season, he scored a total of 9 goals with 7 assists in all competitions. The Chelsea forward who once considered as a reliable striker has a past encounter with Aston Villa. In the previous loan campaign in the 2018/19 season, his goal scoring prowess was vital to the Villans as he scored 26 goals.
However, a major concern, and perhaps the main downside, is the matter of game time. It is doubtful that Abraham would sign to overcome on the bench to Ollie Watkins which in turn might dissuade the latter from signing.
Villa continues to set their eyes on the 23-year-old, as they believe that they can make a move for the youngster due to their previous relationship with him and his agent, Maccarthy, and the fact that he would love to be back in the English top-tier. With this transfer window advancing further, they are eager to finalize the deal.
