Future of the Danish U17 international Chido Obi-Martin, who has Nigerian blood, has still not been settled only six days before the expiry of his schoolboy registration at Arsenal.
Arsenal’s Offer to Obi-Martin
According to reports, Arsenal has tendered two new contracts to Obi-Martin in an attempt to keep him away from other teams that include top European teams. The offers include a scholarship that will transform into a professional contract when he is seventeen years old in November 2024. Nevertheless, these offers have not yielded a positive response from Obi-Martin or any agent representing him, making his Arsenal career’s stability questionable.
Impressive Performance and Record At Arsenal
Last season Obi-Martin could be already considered one of the most perspective teenagers in English football. In the U18 Premier League he scored a remarkable 32 goals in 18 appearances thus overtaking the record of Folarin Balogun. His brilliant performance has led to many big clubs from Europe showing interest in him.
Bayern Munich’s Interest
Football transfer expert FabrizioRomano also corroborated reports that Bayern Munich was still keen on signing Obi-Martin. On his YouTube page, Romano said: “Bayern are also still pushing for Chido Obi-Martin, the superstar of Arsenal academy, one of many because of the flury of talents at the London club. “ He also added that Bayern is considering other young talents like Marc Guiu after communicating with his entourage.
In the international front, Obi-Martin was selected to the 2024 European U17 Championship Team of the tournament. This further strengthened his status as one of the rising stars of the sport as he was a key component for Denmark to reach the semifinals of the competition.
