Former Super Eagles boss Finidi George is set to return to management just three weeks after resigning as the Nigerian national team head coach.

Finidi, who was formerly Super Eagles assistant coach was officially appointed as the team’s head coach in May. However, the 53-year-old manager resigned following back-to-back poor performances from the team in the World Cup qualifiers campaign.

Just about three weeks after his retirement, Finidi is in line for another managerial job with an NPFL side.

According to reports from the Nation, nine times NPFL champions Rivers United are considering hiring Finidi as their new coach.

Rivers United had an impressive start to the season but fell off as the season progressed. After a dismal end to the season, the club’s administration is getting ready to make changes.

Their dismal league performance—finishing outside of the top spots—meant that they missed out on a continental ticket for the first time in three years.
