Super eagles forward, Ademola Lookman has emerged the Best African International Footballer in the Ghana Football Awards held at Accra, Sportsbuddy.ng reports.
The forward received the award after a fantastic year with the Nigeria Super Eagles team and his Italian side Atalanta.
He played a crucial role in aiding Atalanta win the UEFA Europa League as well as scoring three goals in Atalanta’s win over Bayern Leverkusen.
Ademola Lookman Outperforming Top Contenders
The Nigerian forward looked more compelling than rivals Victor Boniface and Edmund Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen. He replaces Napoli incumbent Victor Osimhen, who clinched the award last year when he registered impressive performances that featured a Serie A triumph and CAF Africa’s Player of the Year title.
It is therefore evident that this year’s Lookman deserves a shot at the prestigious and highly competitive award for the best football player in Africa.
Gratitude And Future Prospects

In a video message, Lookman expressed his gratitude: “I am grateful for the honor, the nominations, and the votes, it is something that I, and even my family, are excited about as much as I wish I could be physically present now with you all in Ghana , my heart is here with you all.
