In the build up to the highly anticipated Copa America 2024 match against Colombia, the Brazilian Midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has hailed Vinicius jr and Rodrygo Goes of Real Madrid.
The two were subject to criticism due to the poor start in the competition with a game that ended in a barren draw with Costa Rica. But Brazil responded with a 4-1 victory over Paraguay, with the help of Vinicius’ double.
The New Legendary Duo
Interviewing with the media, Bruno Guimaraes compared Vinicius and Rodrygo to Brazilians and legends. He said: “Vini and Rodrygo are our Ronaldo and Ronaldinho,” as cited in the AS publication.
Bruno said: “Back in the days I was in love with Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Kaka.” We want to bring that back with Vini, Rodrygo, etc. ”
Key to Brazil’s Success
Vinicius and Rodrygo are important players for Brazil at Copa America. When Neymar is out of the picture, Vinicius has assumed the role of being the poster boy; Rodrygo who has the No 10 jersey leads the line.
Looks like it is up to this dynamic paired combination to take Brazil to the next level as they proceed to face the Columbia team. A good campaign could also help Vinicius to have a shot at the Ballon d’Or in which he features for Real Madrid alongside Bellingham and Mbappe.
