Former Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro is in line to resume coaching, after leaving the Nigeria Super Eagles job few months ago Sportsbuddy.ng reports.
In his term, Peseiro utilized the team to reach the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Côte d’Ivoire where the country went for six games without conceding a defeat before losing to the hosts. This was the first time Nigeria was making the AFCON finals in over a decade.
Departure and New Opportunities

Though the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) tried their best to retain him and even offer him a mouthwatering contract extension worth $80000 as salary as reported by Sportsbuddy.
Peseiro left in search for other avenues hence the appointment of Finidi George, a former international player, as the new coach of the Super eagles.

After that, Peseiro has been associated with several coaching positions in South Africa and Egypt but none materialized. Now he looks to secure a new job in Saudi Arabia as negotiations are ongoing
Possibility for Transition to Al Riyadh

The current coach of the side is Odair Hellmann and the club has made advances for Peseiro to become their trainer according to reports. The other candidate for the position is Spanish coach, Javier Pereira.
Al Riyadh was only able to finish 14th on the log last season, is in urgent need of a new trainer, and since Peseiro has experience of working in Saudi Arabia, he is considered worthy of consideration.
He earlier coached Al Hilal in 2006, then he trained the Saudi national team. During his stint, they recorded 12 wins, 12 draw and 7 losses.
