Finidi George, a former coach of the Super Eagles, will take over as head coach of Rivers United, an NPFL team.
During the March international break, the 53-year-old manager oversaw the Super Eagles before he was named the official coach of National Team Nigeria.
However, his credibility took a hit after losing to the Benin Republic and drawing with South Africa in the World Cup qualifiers.
He resigned from his position following reports from the NFF stating that a new technical adviser will be appointed to Finidi’s position.
Finidi begins fresh start
Barely a month after stepping down as the Super Eagles’ manager, the former Enyimba manager will take over as manager of Rivers United.
The former Super Eagles coach submitted his resignation letter in response to rumors that the NFF was considering hiring a technical consultant and demoting him.
