Former Nigerian international Seyi Olofinjana has joined Chelsea as a talent manager covering Africa, according to reports from The Athletics.
Olofinjana, 44, who had 56 caps for the Super Eagles, spent time with Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City in the Championship. He also featured 147 times for Wolverhampton Wanderers from 2004 to 2008, scoring and eighteen goals.
The former Super Eagles midfielder also played in the Premier League for with Stoke City and Hull City.
The 44-year-old worked in under-23 coaching and development at Wolves, including a position as loans and pathways manager, until leaving in 2014 following a brief stay in Norway.
After that, he worked at Grasshoppers Zurich in Switzerland for a year as Sporting Director till 2022. The former midfield player is certified as a UEFA pro coach.

Seyi Olofinjana’s new position at Chelsea will be responsible for recruiting referrals around the continent, collaborating with a recently hired scout who will cover Africa.
The former Stoke City midfielder began his professional career in Nigeria with Kwara United and Crown FC, then moved to the Norwegian club SK Brann in 2003. A year later, he relocated to England with Wolves.
Owing to his experience and knowledge, his job will be to strengthen Chelsea’s ties in Africa and expedite players’ access to the London club and BlueCo’s sister organization in Strasbourg, France.
