Former Super Eagles star Uche Nwofor has sought for justice after he was assaulted by soldiers.
Sports Buddy previously reported about the incident which was posted on Instagram, where Nwofor was harassed by members of the Nigerian armed force, who sat him down and cut off his dread locks at Modebe Memorial Primary School in Onitsha.
Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has received a petition regarding the incident from human rights attorney Inibehe Effiong.
Effiong called Nwofor’s assault “barbaric, absurd, condescending, and embarrassing,” and a violation of Nwofor’s right.

The legal practitioner has pleaded with the Army Chief to form a disciplinary committee to look into the incident and punish the soldiers who were involved. In addition, he demanded that the ex-Super Eagles star receives financial compensation.
Uche Nwofor’s Super Eagles career

Former Nigerian football player Uche Nwofor is well-known for his outstanding achievements and worldwide accomplishments.
He led Nigeria to a sixth championship in April 2011 as the best scorer at the African Youth Championship. That same year, he excelled at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
In July 2013, Nwofor received a call-up from the Nigerian national team for an international friendly against South Africa on August 14 in Durban.He scored twice in the 49th and 68th minutes to help Nigeria win 2-0.
Nwofor has nine caps in total for the Super Eagles, with three goals to his name.
