Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has broken the hearts of Nigerians following his team selection for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Sports Buddy reports.
Henry, who is in charge of the French Olympic men’s squad, has included Nigerian-eligible star Michael Olise in his team. This means the 22-year-old winger is now committed to playing for France, dashing hopes of playing for the Super Eagles.

The Super Eagles have been closely monitoring Olise despite his youth football experience, and he has now made a firm commitment to play for the French squad.
Olise’s father is a Nigerian, so he is eligible to play for the Super Eagles. He can also represent France and Algeria through ties with his French-Algerian mother.
Nigerian fans were hoping to see the newly-signed Bayern Munich winger don the Super Eagles jersey someday because of his ties with the country.

However, with Olise’s inclusion in the Olympic main squad, that chance is all but eliminated.
