The Super Eagles defender, Bruno Onyemaechi, shares his grassroot relationship with Super Falcons’ goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie.
The talented footballer playing for Paris FC and Nigeria’s women national team was once a fellow student with Onyemaechi.
In an interview with Eagles Tracker, Onyemaechi recounted how their journey began: In my opinion, it began during secondary education.

And actually, this girl, Chiamaka, this [Super Falcons] goalkeeper. ”she did her schooling from the same school as I did.

And we played together in school. In those days she was the only girl who would play with us. So I think, my friends back then in school. They always told me that I would make it in football and that I needed to keep on going.
Rising Through the Ranks
Onyemaechi’s friends and mentors encouraged him to play football after school. He got his invitation to the Super Eagles under Portuguese trainer Jose Peseiro in September 2023.
He has since then featured in six games for the national team and represented the team at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations when the team secured the silver medal.
