A Manchester United legend has urged the club to do all it takes to get Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen ahead of next season.
Louis Saha described the 25-year-old striker as a true striker and a perfect addition to the Red Devils, stating he reminds him of his former teammate Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga
Victor Osimhen’s next destination has been one of the most speculated news in recent times, with his next club still yet to be determined.
Napoli slammed a massive £ 113 million (€130m) release clause on the former Lille attacker, following an improved contract signed last year.
According to reports, the Napoli striker was linked with moves to Paris Saint Germain, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, but the deal failed at it was claimed that his huge price tag and injury problems discouraged the clubs way.
However, recent reports from Sports Buddy claims that Chelsea are back in pursuit of Osimhen, having allegedly offered two players in Romelu Lukaku and Cesare Casadei with cash in order to reduce the cost to acquire the the prolific goal poacher.
Manchester United, on the other hand have been linked with Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee in recent weeks and are edging closer to securing his signature.
Louis Saha on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen
Saha, who played for the Red Devils for four years, however, feels Osimhen is the right man to lead Manchester United’s attack next season.
”My dream summer signing would be Victor Osimhen from Napoli, he would really fit the bill at Old Trafford,” Saha told Gamblingzone.
”If I was them I’d be doing everything to try and get him from Napoli, I’d love to see him in a United shirt next season,” he added.
Osimhen finished the 2022-2023 season scoring 31 goals in 39 appearances and also won the Serie A Golden Boot, helping Napoli to their first Scudetto title in 33 years.
However the Super Eagles attacker was unable to replicate this feat in the just-concluded season, managing a decent 15 goals in 25 appearances.
Despite this, Saha believes Osimhen is the ideal man United need to solve their attacking problems.
”His attitude, his work rate, he is so good in front of goal. He has a belief and confidence that reminds me of David Trezeguet or Ruud van Nistelrooy, strikers who attract the ball to their feet,” he added.
