Manchester United’s new acquisition Leny Yoro put up an impressive performance on his debut as the Red Devils recorded a 2-0 victory over Scottish side Rangers.
Leny Yoro’s impressive debut performance
The 18-year-old French defender was put into action just 48 hours after United paid more than £50 million to acquire his services from Lille. He partnered with Jonny Evans, a guy twice his age, in the center of defense.
The young talented center back excited fans with his display as he looked very confident on and off the ball, making line-breaking passes, crucial blocks and also interceptions, as seen in the video above, posted on YouTube.
United’s victory over Rangers comes after a shock 1-0 defeat against Rosenborg on Monday.
In the 39th minute, Amad Diallo—who made 13 appearances during a lackluster loan stint with Rangers little over two years ago—broke the deadlock with a low drive that went past Jack Butland from just inside the box after cutting in from the right, skimming past Jefte with ease.
Joe Hugill, 20, sealed the win for the Old Trafford team with a thumping goal off the underside of the crossbar in the 70th minute.
Meanwhile, England international Jadon Sancho made his first appearance for United after resolving issues with manager Ten Hag following their breakdown in relations last season.
Sports Buddy previously reported that Sancho returned to Manchester United after settling with manager Erik ten Hag, putting an end to a ten-month dispute which saw him train alone before making a loan move to Borussia Dortmund in January.
