Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe plans to offload up to seven senior players this summer as the team continues to rebuild.
Sports Buddy previously reported that Ratcliffe’s ownership of the Premier League team was confirmed soon after the January transfer window.
This means he will get his first chance to bring in new players this summer.
The 71-year-old billionaire is focusing on transfers, along with CEO Omar Berrada, sports director Dan Ashworth, and technical director Jason Wilcox.
Manchester United: Zirkzee, Yoro arrival and massive clear-out
Two deals have already been finalized, with Joshua Zirkzee completing a £36.5 million move from Bologna and Leny Yoro arriving next, moving from Lille for an initial £52 million.
United have also let go of some high earners, releasing Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane and also selling Mason Greenwood to Marseille.
However, the three players may not be the last to depart.
According to ESPN, Christian Eriksen, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay, Victor Lindelöf, and Harry Maguire are all out of contract in 2025, and the Red Devils are open to accepting offers for all five.
Casemiro, who moved to United from Real Madrid in 2022, is another player who might be made available given Saudi Arabia’s alleged interest.
Misfiring forward Anthony could be the seventh player to be offloaded. The Brazilian signed during the same window as Casemiro, but it now seems that United will consider a loan if a team is willing to cover his £70,000-a-week salary.
