Enzo Maresca has described the decision to leave Trevoh Chalobah out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour as ‘sad. ’
The club is willing to let Chalobah go for more than £30m, and there are already interests from other Premier League clubs.
Trevoh Chalobah, whose contract expires in four years, featured in 13 Premier League games in the last campaign following his hamstring injury.
Chalobah was shocked by the decision after being deliberately thrown away by the club.
Asides Chalobah, Chelsea could potentially offload more stars that are surplus to requirements under news boss Enzo Maresca as reported earlier by Sportsbuddy, but Maresca said that stiff competition in the Chelsea team is the reason as to why he has been left out.
Trevoh Chalobah And Competition in Chelsea’s Defence
Tosin Adarabioyo was signed from Fulham as a free agent while Wesley Fofana, a former Leicester City player, returned from ACL surgery to strengthen the team’s defense line.
Another issue highlighted by Maresca was the discovery of young talents such as Josh Acheampong. ‘It is a sad one, but we have to make the decision,’ Maresca said that in developing a team, such decisions are necessary.
Addressing Injury Concerns
He decided to keep silence over Pochettino since one cannot know everything that happens in a team from the outside. The only word I can say is fortunately we started two weeks ago we didn’t have any problems any injuries Maresca.
He is particularly focused on making personal work prevention plans to curb injuries as he sought to manage and reduce the issues that affected Chelsea earlier.
