In February 2024, World Cup winner from France and Juventus player Paul Pogba was banned for six months for doping. Juventus’ 31-year-old midfielder is facing a break in his career as he cannot practice or play for the Juventus team.
Pogba was suspended due to doping issues in 2023 when he tested positive to increased levels of testosterone.
Furthermore, the ‘B’ sample analysis returned similar results. Consequently, Pogba has decided to head to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
What Pogba Said
In a recent report from Sportsbuddy, Paul Pogba has pledged to appeal his four-year doping ban and stated that he is “not finished” as a professional football player.
However, I have my family, my faith, my friends, and my fans who have supported me, which makes things easier. All will be well.”
Efforts to Clear His Name
Paul Pogba went on to say, “While I cannot speak much about this, all roads point to the appeal date and I am currently preparing to be fit and wait for the appeal date. ”
Sportsbuddy also reported earlier that, months after receiving a four-year doping ban, Paul Pogba is dedicating his summer break to charitable causes. The 31-year-old French footballer traveled to Ivory Coast, where he made several generous religious donations.
Pogba is still tied to Juventus until the year 2026 but on a different deal with less wages. Currently, he will be able to play again only in August 2027, which means that when this is due, he will be 35 years old.
