Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has admitted that he has Mykhyllo Mudryk to thank for joining the Gunners.
Trossard revealed that the Arsenal hierarchy went to great lengths to express their desire for him after the Mykhailo Mudryk saga.
Initially, the Gunners aimed to sign Ukrainian winger Mudryk during the winter transfer window of 2023. However, Chelsea swooped in with an £88.5 million offer and secured the deal.

As an alternative, the Gunners turned to Trossard, who joined from Brighton in January for £27 million and made an immediate impact.
‘‘I didn’t think about what was going on before me,” said Trossard, who had fallen out of favor with then-Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi months before his move to Arsenal.
‘’They (Arsenal) made it very clear to me that they wanted me after the thing with Mudryk and yeah, I was happy to join.
‘’I had a good chat with Mikel. He gave me the plan about how it would go, and it just started to click straight away.
‘’Not just with my performances on the pitch but off the pitch as well, I think there’s a really good vibe. Players are amazing off the pitch, how they welcome you, so it came straight away,’’ he added, per TheDaily Mail
The versatile forward scored 19 goals across all competitions last campaign, making him Arsenal’s second-highest scorer for the season.
Mudryk’s struggles with Chelsea
Meanwhile, Mudryk, on the other hand, has struggled since his big-money move to Chelsea, failing to live up to expectations.
The pacey winger, who recently responded to John Mikel Obi’s criticisms, has managed just seven goals and four assists in 58 games for the Blues.
