Challenges in Serie A
In his inauguration ceremony, the 1. A 91m tall defender was asked about the most challenging opponent he has come across during his time with the Torino club.
“Victor Osimhen was definitely tough. His speed made him really difficult to mark. Man-marking Lukaku was also really challenging because of his size.”
“There are many strong strikers, and it’s always difficult. You have to study them a lot, watch their movements, and understand how their teammates like to get them the ball,” said the four-cap Gli-Azzurri defender, via Football Italia.
Buongiorno may start alongside one of his toughest challengers come summer transfer window.
It is getting closer to reality that Victor Osimhen cannot continue at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, while Napoli prepares to capture Romelu Lukaku to replace the Super Eagles striker.
In a recent report from Sportsbuddy, Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has denied rumours of his client moving to Chelsea on loan.
Napoli is set to start their season on Saturday, 10th August at home. They are scheduled to play against Serie B side Modena in their opening Coppa Italia match.
