There are rumors about Victor Osimhen possibly being signed by Chelsea through a loan deal due to its suitability to Chelsea’s financial position.
Liverpool legend Stan Collymore chimed in opining that the added expense would place pressure on the striker as the club’s new face.
Collymore shared with Caught Offside via The Chelsea Chronicle saying “That player, whoever it was, got talked about way beyond whether they were good, bad or indifferent on the pitch.”
Doubts From A Liverpool Legend
“It was always that the record signing would be expected to make the difference which I always thought was very unfair. The big-name signing that won’t just entertain us but will also become the poster boy of both his club and the entire Premier League.”
“That could well be the case for Victor Osimhen if his rumoured move to Chelsea comes off, because the mind boggling numbers then puts unfair pressure and expectation on him.” said Collymore
High Expectations and Napoli Connections
In a previous report from Sportsbuddy, Napoli defender Alessandro Buongiorno, who played in Serie A for five years, said that Osimhen is the most difficult player he has ever faced.
The young 25-year-old versatile defender in Luciano Spalletti’s EURO 2024 team hailed the potential of the Napoli forward.
Other notable remarks about the Nigerian striker were made by the ex-Real Madrid player Fabio Cannavaro who discussed Osimhen and Kvara Kvaratskhelia’s roles at Napoli and that the club should not let them leave, as per the Sportsbuddy report.
