Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has incurred the wrath of his manager, Carlo Ancelotti, after the 21-year-old midfielder refused to pick up his boss’ phone call.
Bellingham, who is currently enjoying a well-deserved rest, played a key role in helping England reach the Euro 2024 final, where they lost 2-1 to Spain.
Ancelotti has allowed the midfield player more time off to recuperate after the demanding campaign and has been checking up on him on a daily basis.
Ancelotti reveals why he is angry with Jude Bellingham
However, the 21-year-old infuriated the renowned boss by snubbing one of his calls just moments after taking up and responding to one from teammate Vinicius Jr.
“I’m in touch… but yesterday I got angry with Bellingham because he didn’t answer me.
“I told Vinicius to call him and he picked up immediately. He passed me the phone and I was able to speak to him. So be careful,” Ancelooti said, per The Sun.
Bellingham’s impressive debut season
Bellingham emerged as a revelation for Real Madrid in his debut season, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists for the European heavyweights.
The former Borussia Dortmund player played a major role in the Los Blancos’ successful season, helping them to a Champions League and La Liga double—an impressive season that has put him as one of the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
And Ancelotti believes the 21-year-old can keep up with his incredible performance, even with Kylian Mbappe’s sensational summer transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
“Nothing changes for him. Nothing changes.
“The first season, he surprised a lot, because he showed fantastic quality, a really mature guy,” the legendary gaffer said.
