As we look forward to a new season with AC Milan, Samuel Chukwueze is heading into the new season with a renewed vigor and spirit.
The Nigerian international has been on the spotlight scoring a goal against Real Madrid and setting up a useful goal against Manchester City during Milan’s pre-season.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chukwueze opened up on his time at Milan and the hardships that he endured under the leadership of the former coach Stefano Pioli.
Speaking on the challenges he had to deal with growing up, in a recent report from Sportsbuddy, the Super Eagles star revealed how his mum nearly deprived him of his football dream.
Challenges Under Pioli

To the question on what did not work with Stefano Pioli, the former Villareal forward responded that he only joined the team in July, hence he could not persuade the coach to give him more chances.
I joined at the end of July and it was a little uneasy to persuade him because those who played in my position were performing.
However, Chukwueze was quick to state that he had a good relationship with Pioli in that he was a fantastic man and a good coach.
A Fresh Start with Fonseca

With the arrival of the new trainer Paulo Fonseca, the Super Eagles winger sees himself reborn and eager to show off.
Fonseca’s expectations were clear: ‘The only thing he told me was, ‘Samuel, I don’t want to see last year’s Chukwueze, I want the Villarreal one. Chukwueze responded positively, feeling like a “new player” with a fresh start at Milan.
The Dynamic with Pulisic

Chukwueze also showed enthusiasm about playing alongside Christian Pulisic but more so when Pulisic was deployed as a number 10.
“For me, it’s perfect. Rafa is fast, Pulisic dribbles and scores, I can do one-two. If they double up on Rafa, then they have to mark us. ”
This triumvirate of Rafael Leão, including Pulisic, could be challenging for the rivals, and the Eagles winger is ready to give his best for Milan next season.
With this new focus and the support of his coach and teammates, Chukwueze will be a key player at AC Milan.
