Danilo had contested for an aerial ball with Antoine Semenyo before awkwardly landing, rolling his ankle, and collapsing to the pitch in agony.
The injury stunned his teammates, who put their hands on their heads in shock, while the referee swiftly halted play and waved Forest’s medical staff onto the field.
Stewards swiftly covered the injured Danilo with a makeshift tent as they attended to him.
The Brazilian’s injured leg was braced after eight minutes of treatment, and he was carried off the field on a stretcher.
The 23-year-old was cheered on by both sets of supporters at the City Ground as he was carried off and taken to the hospital.

Eight minutes later, Chris Wood broke the deadlock for Forest, tapping in a goal from inside the box after Bournemouth’s goalkeeper Neto parried Callum Hudson-Odoi’s shot straight into his path.
However, the Cherries pulled one back courtesy of a goal from Semenyo, leaving both teams to share the spoil.
