Manchester City star Erling Haaland has revealed the reason for his altercation with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez during the Cityzens’ opening game against the Blues.
The defending champions made relatively light work of Chelsea during their visit to Stamford Bridge this weekend. They defeated the hosts 2-0, courtesy of goals from Haaland and former Blues star Mateo Kovacic.
Despite it being the first weekend of the Premier League season, there have already been controversial moments and also feisty incidents in the game.
Erling Haaland, who had a vengeful moment with Marc Cucurella, also got involved in a feisty confrontation with Fernandez, in the same game.

Both players were seen exchanging words, with Haaland visibly animated and pointing his finger at the Argentine defender, seemingly accusing him of something.
Prior to the altercation, Haaland and Fernandez had gotten involved in tussles a couple of times.

”All the time, he stamps on me,” Erling Haaland said, as seen in a video posted by Optus Sports on X.
He continued, ”He pushes me and everything…. And not only him.
”I don’t know what he wants, but yeah, that’s what they do i guess,” he added.

Meanwhile, Haaland might not be the only one who had a problem with Fernandez during yesterday’s game.
Sports Buddy recently reported that the former Benfica star was scapegoated by fans for his performance yesterday, with many also blaming the manager, Enzo Maresca for naming him captain for the game.
