Cristiano Ronaldo has given insight into his post-retirement plans as the Portugal icon rules out the possibility of becoming a football team manager in the future.
Ronaldo, in his twilight years, has won almost everything in football, including five Ballon d’Or awards.
In March, Georgina Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend, commented on his potential retirement from football.
The 39-year-old’s contract with Al-Nassr expires at the end of this season, and his disappointing performance at Euro 2024 has fueled speculation about his retirement.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed his availability for Portugal’s upcoming Nations League matches against Croatia and Scotland
What Cristiano Ronaldo said
“I want is to be able to help the national team in their upcoming matches,” Ronaldo told reporters, as quoted by The Sun.
“We have the Nations League ahead of us and I would really like to play,” he added.
When asked about when he will hang up his international boots, he replied,
“When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance.
“It will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought-out one.”
The Al Nassr star also revealed he has no plans to go into coaching after retiring.
“At the moment, I’m not thinking about being a coach of the first-team or any team.
“It doesn’t even cross my mind, I’ve never thought about it. I don’t see my future going through that.
“I see myself doing other things outside of football – but only God knows what the future holds.”
According to sources, Ronaldo has invested in hotels, gyms, and clothing brands in addition to his several investments.
The Portuguese legend recently added another venture to his already impressive portfolio by launching his own YouTube channel, which broke the record for the fastest number of subscribers.
