A recent development in Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga could derail his potential move to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli, reopening the door for Chelsea to sign the Nigerian striker.
Earlier reports indicate that Napoli and Al Ahli had reached an agreement for Victor Osimhen, while negotiations for another striker, Ivan Toney, were also nearing completion.
Al Ahli pick Ivan Toney over Victor Osimhen
But the Saudi Pro club have picked only Toney, with the 28-year-old set for a medical, while Osimhen’s situation hangs in the balance.
With Al Ahli now prioritising Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen remains Chelsea’s top offensive target as the transfer window draws to a close.

The Saudi Arabian club have agreed to a £40 million deal with Brentford for the English international, paving the way for Toney’s move
According to Fabrizio on X, “Al Ahli have total agreement with Ivan Toney and his agents. Three-year deal in place. Medical tests are also booked for the English striker and £40m to Brentford.”
Chelsea back on track to sign Osimhen
Toney’s potential move to Al Ahli, following a successful medical, could pave the way for Chelsea to finalise a deal with Osimhen, who is eager to leave Napoli.
Chelsea are seeking to acquire Osimhen on loan with an obligation-to-purchase option.
